Care-O-Pet (generic name: carprofen; brand names include: Rimadyl) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used in dogs for inflammation and pain relief.

Recommendations

The usual recommended dosage of Care-O-Pet is 2 mg/lb (4.4 mg/kg) of body weight given once daily. For the control of postoperative pain, the tablet should be given approximately 2 hours before the procedure.
The chewable tablets may be fed by hand or placed on food. Make sure that the dog consumes the complete dose.

Precautions
Do not use this medicine in dogs with bleeding disorders, in dogs younger than 6 weeks of age, or in pregnant and lactating dogs.
